Business and Trade Database

PRRT are currently considering the benefits of developing a Business and Trade Directory. The objective is to promote and advertise businesses and services provided by Officers and Ex Officers. The directory is aimed at Officers and Ex Officers who are self employed who could benefit from promoting their business to the wider police population. This could be similar to a “yellow pages” for ex and serving police officers.

How many times have you wondered, “Where would I find a plumber?” or “Where would I find a driving instructor” or have you ever been asked “Does any one know someone who could lay a floor” or “help me landscape my garden”. Usually the answer came from a colleague or friend who knew someone who could help. Many times it was an officer who was running a parallel business in addition to their Police Career. It was always good to find the information was available so close at hand and frequently it came with a positive recommendation.

So what happens after you leave the Police Service? Is that network lost? Many Officers have left the service due to severance or retirement. In some cases the Officers have gone on to develop those parallel businesses into full time careers.

PRRT wish to help retain and extend this network of contacts, which exists through this innovative project. PRRT are developing this because of the wide range of services available and the benefits of sharing this information within the Police family.

It is intended that such a directory will assist with the establishment of networks both formal and informal to provide business and support. It is also hoped that the directory will assist with business development by expanding the customer base through the promotion of a wide range of business. The directory will also provide access and links to a network of other business services. Overall the benefits will be to extend previous and existing camaraderie.

In order to ensure that as many people as possible can avail of the opportunity to advertise their businesses, PRRT wish to take some time promoting the opportunity prior to going to print. This will ensure as many ex and serving officers as possible can avail of the service. With this in mind you are invited to act as an ambassador, to use the informal grapevine to make colleagues and ex members aware of the project.

We at PRRT appreciate that this may take some time to develop. In order to meet current needs and start the process of advertising we have decided to dedicate a page on our website on which Officers and Ex Officers can advertise their business.

This process has already started and some people have already signed up to advertising their services and business via the PRRT website. To view them check out www.prrt.org and click on Business and Trade.

“If you want to succeed in business you have to be out there to be seen”

We at PRRT think a Business and Trade Directory will provide an excellent resource from which we can all identify support and assistance from good trade’s people. We can even book our holidays and enjoy some well-earned rest. Could you benefit?

If you require any further information or you are interested in advertising in the Business and Trade Directory or on the PRRT website please forward your contact details to
