will give students a full understanding of the skills and techniques
required to install and support Windows 98, Windows NT and Windows
2000. Provide the essentials of installing and troubleshooting all
types of PC Hardware.
*Students should have successfully completed PC Fundamentals

Operating Systems Technologies (5 Day)
· Module 1: Operating system basics.
· Module 2: Windows 98.
· Module 3: Windows NT Workstation (Home study).
· Module 4: Windows 2000.
· Module 5: The Internet.
· Module 6: Windows Me.
Core Hardware (5 Day)
· Module 1: Hardware Basics.
· Module 2: System Configuration.
· Module 3: Safety and Preventative maintenance.
· Module 4: Installing, upgrading and troubleshooting.
· Module 5: Motherboards and components.
· Module 6: Printers.
·
Module 7: Laptop PC’s.
· Module 8: Networking.
· Module 9: Customer service techniques.
Learning Outcomes
After attending this course participants will be able to:-
· Partition and format hard disk drives.
· Install and configure Windows 98 and Windows 2000
· Create, configure and use network and internet connections.
· Support and troubleshoot operating systems and applications.
· Install and configure PC Hardware and system components.
· Understand the basics of peripherals and local area networking.
· Support and troubleshoot PC Hardware, software and peripherals.
· Have a good understanding of customer service techniques.
Expected Home Study Time
Extensive home study will be required depending on experience.
CompTIA A+ Certification requires successfully completing both Operating
Systems and Core Hardware exams.
