FUNDING SUPPORT

Training Support funding may be available to you if you wish to pursue a particular course of study or training course which is not provided as part of our current offering.

This course of study or training course must underpin your future career plan.  A training support funding application should be completed at an assessment interview with a Training Assessor, or by a Careers Coach if you are engaged in the careers guidance process.

Applications for Training Support Funding may include:

• Tuition fees
• Examination fees
• Registration fees
• Medical examinations
• Manuals which are detailed as an integral part of the course
• VAT.

Funding will not include:

• Course materials
• Text books
• Recommended or essential reading material
• Travel, accommodation or subsistence.

Funding is not available for training or education courses that have received funding from any other funding body, or for training and education courses provided or presented outside the UK.

Funding may be available for eligible clients living outside Northern Ireland, and will be considered on an individual basis by the Training Support Panel.

Eligibility:

Training Support Funding may be available to:

• Full Time Reserve officers (other than those engaged in severance programme)
• Regular Serving officers (with at least 20 years' service, and an intention of leaving the service within 5 years)
• Medically Retired officers (other than those in full-time or part-time permanent employment)
• Retired officers (other than those managed via a severance arrangement or those in full-time or part-time permanent employment).

Financial training support is not available for applicants who live outside the United Kingdom, nor is it available for training courses delivered outside the United Kingdom.
