DIPLOMA IN SOCIAL SCIENCES - A CLOSER LOOK

This course, designed specifically for you, gives you the opportunity to sample the many facets of Psychology and Sociology and realise how much of these two subjects you have actually unknowingly been using throughout your career.

Has it been a long time since you engaged in any formal study, and are you a little apprehensive? These issues will be addressed when you start of the course with an introduction to Research and Study skills and the production of a Personal Development Portfolio.

A qualification in Maths and English is now more frequently in demand from employers irrespective of the job, therefore included in the course are modules in Mathematics and Communication Skills. These latter two modules give you GCSE equivalence. The course itself equates to three ‘A’ levels and is accepted as meeting the minimum entrance requirements for university.

This is a stand alone qualification giving you an Access Diploma in Social Sciences and it can be used as a stepping stone to a new career or a new interest. The classes are held at PRRT’s Maryfield Complex and the course is accredited by the University of Ulster.
