Open Access to PRRT Training: Enrolment Reminder
In a new initiative, PRRT training services are now available to all part-time officers and civilian support staff. The immediate families (spouses, partners, children) of any serving or retired police officer, whether the officer is entitled to funding or not, are now also able to enrol.
This is a great opportunity for the wider police family to study at an award-winning centre of excellence that has outstanding pass rates for all academic courses. With its first-class mentoring and support mechanisms, PRRT is now expanding its training service to include the new groups for no more than the cost of studying at less reputable centres.
This new initiative means that as well as gaining recognised qualifications, the entire police family can now come together in a secure and relaxed environment to develop a wide range of skills and other interests.
The academic classes cater for all ability levels ranging from Essential Skills Literacy/Numeracy Level 2 (six hours study per week) right up to a BA degree in Professional Development (four hours per week over 15 months). The ever-important Maths and English GCSEs are available as well. All of the courses are offered on a part-time basis and designed to fit around work and family life.
Some of most sought after classes include the Diploma in Social Sciences and the Certificate in Paralegal Studies, but others are available including a useful range of teaching and management qualifications.
Officers with over 20 years’ service and intending to leave within five years, all FTR, those within either the compulsory or voluntary severance schemes, or any retired officers, medically or otherwise, should be eligible for financial assistance.
Information days will be held at Maryfield on 27th and 28th May from 10am - 2pm and from 4pm - 8pm where anyone interested in enrolling can get additional information on some excellent academic opportunities.
Alternatively, PRRT can be contacted at Maryfield Complex, 100 Belfast Road, Holywood, BT18 9QY. Tel: 028 9042 7788 or email: training@prrt.org
