Conference marks ten years of success for PRRT

This October saw PRRT celebrate its tenth anniversary in style with a unique 'Change for Success' conference at the Culloden Hotel. This high profile event, sponsored by BDO, saw President Mary McAleese among the keynote speakers as well as those from the world of business, government, occupational health and HR management.

Focusing on the central issues of change and workforce management, the conference provided an excellent opportunity to showcase PRRT's sister brand and commercial entity, Futures (NI).

Futures (NI) was recently established with the aim of offering the specialist expertise provided by PRRT to a wider market, including both public and private sector organisations. The existence of Futures (NI) will undoubtedly increase revenue streams, allowing PRRT to further enhance and develop the services that it currently provides to police clients.

Eddie Gaw, Chief Executive explains, “Our organisation is a unique one, which is dedicated to assisting retired police officers, and those planning to leave the service, to recognise their potential, identify opportunities, set and achieve objectives and enjoy the optimum mental and physical wellbeing outside policing.

“Futures (NI), our commercial entity, allows us to use this same blend of support, physical and psychological therapies, training and career development through the employment transition department, to assist other organisations who are dealing with change.”

The conference was opened by Paul Goggins, Minister for State for NI, and other guest speakers included Dame Carol Black, National Director for Health and Work, former DCC Paul Leighton, Dr Geoff Crowther, Chief Medical Adviser, PSNI, Sheamus Hamill, Chairman of PRRT, Michael McDonnell of BDO, Emma Zeeman of Grafton and Mark Pollock.
