Personal Development - HNC Public Services - 1 year
part-time course
(Sept - June, 2 evenings per week)
Target Client
Applicants should possess third level qualifications
such as A Levels or National Diploma. Students, who have police service
experience but do not hold third level qualifications will be welcomed.
Course Objectives
The course aims to provide intellectually challenging
and vocationally relevant learning experiences for suitably able candidates
who wish to obtain a nationally recognised higher level qualification.

The course consists of six essential core units
of study and four optional units.

Emergency and Disaster Management
Youth and Community Work
Physical Fitness Consideration

Course Assessment
Knowledge and skills will be continuously developed
and assessed using a range of assessment techniques to include: written
reports, case studies, presentations, group work and end tests.
HNC graduation ceremony will be held in September
Further Development
On successful completion of the HNC, students may wish to take a bridging
course of six additional units to achieve the HND Public Services. Enhanced
degree entry to part-time and full-time degree courses may then be obtained.
