2 ½ Day Course

Target Client

This course is suitable for clients who wish to become competent in the area of Car Valeting. It is suitable for those clients who wish to secure a job or pursue this as a future career.

Course Objectives

This course aims to provide practical knowledge of up-to-date techniques and material used in the preparation and maintenance of motor vehicles to a professional car valeting standard. The course is practical and participants will work with used vehicles in a well equipped work shop environment. There will be a written test at the end of the 2½ days and a certificate will be awarded on candidates' competence in six defined areas of operation.

- Professional car care products
- Health and Safety
- Function of wet bay and dry bay
- Wheels and tyres
- Cleaning the engine
- Interior cleaning
- Body work
- Polishing
- Finishing touches
- Dealing with scratches

Learning Outcomes

After attending this course participants will be able to:

- Understand the three main stages in professional car valeting
- List the products required to properly valet a motor vehicle
- Use a high pressure washer and an electric polisher
- Wash and polish the exterior of a motor vehicle using several pre-determined steps
- Clean and renovate the interior of a motor vehicle using several pre-determined steps
- This course is certified
- Clients who express an interest in becoming self employed car valeters will be given the opportunity to attend an Autoglym 2 hour "new business/self employment" seminar. More details will be provided by course tutor.
