PRRT is fully committed to the effective promotion of equality of opportunity in all its employment policies and procedures and to creating an environment where all staff are valued and encouraged to develop their full potential.
PRRT Equality Scheme
We are committed to discharging our commitments under equality law. Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998 requires public authorities, in carrying out their functions in relation to Northern Ireland, to have due regard to the need to promote equality of opportunity between:
- Persons of different religious belief, political opinion, racial group, age, marital status or sexual orientation
- Men and women generally
- Persons with a disability and persons without
- Person with dependants and persons without.
Section 75 also requires public authorities to have regard to the desirability of promoting good relations between persons of different religious belief, political opinion or racial group.
The main aim of Section 75 is to make sure that equality is at the core of everything we do and our equality scheme sets out how we propose to fulfil the Section 75 statutory duties. For more information on PRRT’s Equality Scheme please see link below.
